Meet Ruggero
Ruggero Romano is an Italian film director, producer and show host based in Canada. After moving to Vancouver in 2016, he graduated from Vancouver Film School and devoted himself to filmmaking for social impact. While working in Vancouver as a dishwasher and salesman, Ruggero took part in a multitude of collaborations and produced documentaries with the Indigenous communities in British Columbia. When noticing the social inequality that shaped the city, he decided to amplify the voices of the homeless community in Downtown Eastside Vancouver, releasing his feature documentary "V6A" with the purpose to inspire locals and dissolve the stigma projected onto homelessness, addiction and mental health. Ruggero is currently producing and distributing films for social impact through his organization “Movies Move Us”.
He loves people, jazz, capoeira, and is always happy to support filmmakers in their journeys to tell meaningful stories. He also has a very sharp nose.
